The vision
Why I Created "Discover Taghazout"
When I first arrived in Taghazout in 2011, I was captivated by its raw beauty—the rhythm of the Atlantic, the warmth of the Berber people, and the 'slow life' that is so hard to find in Europe. But I also realized something: Finding reliable, local information was a challenge. I saw travelers missing out on the best hidden surf spots, struggling to find a workspace that actually worked, or overlooking the incredible hiking and culture in the mountains.
This website exists to be the resource I wish I had. My goal is to gather over a decade of local secrets, business expertise, and community connections into one single place. I want you to spend less time searching on your phone and more time in the water or enjoying the sunset."
A Decade of Local Heart
I’m Magdalena. Born and raised in Germany, I traded the city life for the salt air of Morocco 14 years ago. My life here is built on three pillars: Surf, Yoga, and Martial Arts. Since 2015, I have been officially helping people discover this village. In that time, I’ve welcomed over 1,000 guests through my own projects—SunDesk Coworking and Ocean82 Apartments. Being a local business owner gives me a unique perspective: I don’t just visit here; I live, work, and breathe the Taghazout ecosystem.
I’ve personally vetted every surf camp, yoga shala, and activity on this site to ensure you get an experience that is authentic, safe, and unforgettable."

Transparency & How I Support This Guide
Transparency & Support
I believe in the magic of Taghazout, and my goal is to keep this guide free and accessible for everyone. To make this possible, I have partnered with local surf camps, yoga retreats, and schools that I have known and trusted for over a decade.
How it works
Some of the links on this website are affiliate links. This means that if you click on them and decide to book an experience, I may earn a small commission from the provider.
Here is my promise to you:
- No Extra Cost: You will never pay more by booking through my links. In many cases, my local connections allow me to negotiate even better deals for you.
- Vetted Recommendations: I only recommend places like Habo, Amayour, and Dfrost because I have seen their work firsthand since 2011. My integrity is more important to me than a commission.
- Personal Businesses: Please note that while I am a partner for some camps, Sundesk and Ocean82 are my own businesses where I host you personally.
